غريب g̠ẖarīb A (from غربت) 1. s. m. and f. A foreigner, a stranger. 2. adj. Poor, humble, mild, meek, strange, foreign, wonderful. (Pers. plur. غريبان The poor, &c.). غريب الوطن g̠ẖarību-l-wat̤an, In a foreign land, stranger. غريب پرور g̠ẖarīb-parwar, Cherisher of the poor. غريب پروري g̠ẖarīb-parwar-ī, s. f. Che- rishing of the poor. غريب مار g̠ẖarīb-mār, s. f. Oppression of the poor. غريب نواز g̠ẖarīb-na- wāz, adj. Courteous to strangers, kind to the poor, hospitable. غريب نوازي g̠ẖarīb-nawāz-ī, s. f. Hospitality, courtesy or attention to stran- gers, kindness to the poor. A. P. غريبانه g̠ẖarīb-āna (comp. of غريب and Pers. affix آنه) 1. adj. Fit for the poor, humble. 2. adv.
