طلايه t̤ilāya A. (corrupt. of طليعه or طلايع) s. m. Night-watch, rounds, piquet, patrole.

طوطي t̤ūt̤ī P (from Pers. توتي) s. f. A parrot, a paroquet. طوطي کي سي هونٿهـ مل ڐالنا t̤ūt̤ī ke se honṭh mal ḍālnā (lit.) To rub or twist oneʼs parrot-like lips, is used by way of an affectionate or friendly admonition; thus: بولا نکراي يار تو هر يک سي بگڙکر مل ڐاليگا طوطي سي کوٴي هونٿهـ پکڙکر Bolā na kar ai yār tū har yak se bigaṛkar; mal ḍālegā t̤ūt̤ī se koʼī honṭh pakaṛkar, Do not, my love, indulge in the habit of speaking an- grily to every one; lest some one should twist those lips of thine which emulate the parrotʼs in redness.

طلا t̤ilā A s. An ointment, liniment, embrocation. طلاکرنا t̤ilā karnā, To anoint, besmear, embro- cate.

طفل t̤ifl A s. m. An infant, a child, a young ani- mal. (Plur. Arab. اطفال Pers. طفلان). A.P. طفلانه t̤ifl-āna, adj. Childish, like a child.

طوسي t̤ūsī A s. f. A colour so called; a kind of purple.

طيران t̤ayarān A s. m. Flight (of birds, &c.).

طبيله t̤abela A. s. m. A stable: see طويله t̤awīla, sign. 2.

طلاق t̤alāḳ A (from طلق) s. f. Divorce, repudia- tion.

طاعت t̤āʼaﻌt A (from طاع) s. f. Devotion, obe- dience, obsequiousness. (Plur. طاعات).

طالب t̤ālib A part. act. (of طلب) 1. Asking, de- manding, interrogating. 2. s. m. An inquirer, a seeker, a lover, asker, candidate, exacter. طالب دنيا t̤ālib-i-dunyā, Worldly-minded. طالب علم t̤ālib-i-iﻌlm, Searching after knowledge, a student. طالب علمي t̤ālib-i-iﻌlm-ī, or طالب العلمي t̤ālibu-l-iﻌlm-ī, s. f. Search of knowledge, study. (Plur. Pers. طالبان Arab. طلبا).
