سامرتهي सामर्थी sāmarth-ī S adj. Powerful, mighty, able, capable.

سوا sūʼā S s. m. 1. (शुक) A parrot, paroquet. 2. (शूक) A needle with which gunny bags are sewed, a packing-needle, an awn of corn.

سوست स्वस्ति swasti S A particle of benedic- tion, approbation, &c. (so be it, amen). स्वस्ति वाचन swasti-vāchan, s. m. A religious rite preparatory to any important observance, in which the Brāhmaṇs strew boiled rice on the ground, and invoke the blessing of the gods on the ceremony about to commence.
