رولنا rolnā H v. a. 1. To roll, to plane, to polish, to smooth. 2. To select, to pick. Saudā says: که جسکي خاک سي ليتي تهي خلق موتي رول Kijisḳī ḵẖāk se letī thī ḵẖalḳ motī rol, From the earth of which people picked out pearls.

رغب rag̠ẖb A s. m. 1. Strong desire, avidi- ty. 2. Wish, curiosity. 3. Esteem, affection, pleasure. رغبت کرنا rag̠ẖbat karnā, To desire, to covet.

رنده جانا rundh jānā S̱. (r. रुध Confine) v. n. To be confined, restrained or afflicted (in mind).

رفت و گذشت raft-o-guẕasht P or رفت گذشت raft-guẕasht, perf. (of رفتن and کذشتن) Past.

ريوت रेवत rewat S s. m. Name of a Rājā, who was father in law of Balarāma.

ريشمي reshm-ī P adj. Silken.

رات rāt रात्रि S̱. s. f. Night. رات تهوڙي اورسانگ بـﮩت rāt thoṛī aur sāng bahut, is applied to express a hurry of business with little time to perform it in; also great expense with a small income. Mīr says:-- بن جو کچهـ بن سکي جواني مين رات تهوڙي هي اوربـﮩت هي سانگ Ban jo kuchh ban sake jawānī meṇ; rāt thoṛī hai aur bahut hai sāng, Acquire whatever you can in the season of youth: the task is arduous and the time short. (Ars longa vita brevis. Hippoc.). آدهي رات ādhī rāt, Midnight. راتون رات rātoṅ rāt, In the middle of the night.

ربڙي rabṛī H s. f. Thick milk.

رنس rans रश्मि S̱. s. f. A ray, a sunbeam.

راج دهاني राजधानी rāj-dhānī S s. f. The me- tropolis, seat of empire, royal residence.
