رني ऋणी r̤iṇ-ī S adj. m. In debt; debtor.

روهن रोहण rohaṇ S s. m. Name of a Rājā.

روان roʼāṅ रोम S̱. s. m. Hair of the body, down, wool. See روم rom.

رنڐسالا ranḍ-sālā S̱. (from रंडा) s. m. Widowʼs dress, widowʼs weeds.

رات rāt रात्रि S̱. s. f. Night. رات تهوڙي اورسانگ بـﮩت rāt thoṛī aur sāng bahut, is applied to express a hurry of business with little time to perform it in; also great expense with a small income. Mīr says:-- بن جو کچهـ بن سکي جواني مين رات تهوڙي هي اوربـﮩت هي سانگ Ban jo kuchh ban sake jawānī meṇ; rāt thoṛī hai aur bahut hai sāng, Acquire whatever you can in the season of youth: the task is arduous and the time short. (Ars longa vita brevis. Hippoc.). آدهي رات ādhī rāt, Midnight. راتون رات rātoṅ rāt, In the middle of the night.

راستي rāst-ī P s. f. Honesty, probity, uprightness, veracity, truth, fidelity, justice, loyalty, can- dour, sincerity, rectitude, straightness, justness.

رجهوار rijhwār S̱. (from رجهانا) adj. Having the quality of being pleased.

راک rāk S̱. s. f. See راکهـ rākh.

رلانا rulānā S̱. (causal of رونا q. v.) v. a. To cause to cry, to vex, to displease, to afflict. H. رلنا 1. ralnā, v. n. To be mixed. 2. rulnā, v. n. To roll, to be rolled or pulverized.

روندنا raundnā H v. a. To trample on, to tread down, to ride over.
