خولنجان ḵẖolinjān P s. m. Galangal. (Alpinia galanga or Galanga major. Sans. कुलंजन).

خرس ḵẖirs P s. m. A bear. خرس بازي ḵẖirs- bāz-ī, s. f. Rudeness, romping, bearʼs play.

خفيه ḵẖufya A (from خفا) 1. adj. Disguised, concealed. 2. (Also خفيتا ḵẖufyataṉ) adv. Secretly. خفيه نويس ḵẖufya-nawīs, s. m. One whose business is to write intelligence secretly; intelligencer, informer. خفيه نويسي ḵẖufya-na- wīs-ī, s. f. Secret intelligence writing.

خشتک ḵẖishtak P s. f. A square piece of cloth under the armhole in a vest. See also خستک.

خونچه ḵẖụncha P (properly خوانچه) s. m. A small tray.

خواه ḵẖẉāh P 1. part. act. (of خواستن) in compos. Wishing, requiring, soliciting, desiring; as, ترقيخواه taraḳḳī-ḵẖẉāh, Wishing increase. دولتخواه daulat-ḵẖẉāh, Wishing prosperity. 2. conj. Either, or, whether. 3. part. pass. as, خاطرخواه ḵẖāt̤ir-ḵẖẉāh, The desire of oneʼs heart. خواه مخواه ḵẖẉāh ma-ḵẖẉāh or خواه نخواه ḵẖẉāh na-ḵẖẉāh or خواهي نه خواهي ḵẖẉāhī na ḵẖẉāhī, adv. 1. Willing or not willing, nolens volens. 2. Certainly, positively, abso- lutely, at all events.

خلع ḵẖalﻌ A (Heb. ) verbal noun, Stripping off, stripping, deposing, removing. خلع العذار ḵẖalaʼaﻌ-l-iﻌẕār (Has put off the rein) Is un- checked or uncontrouled.

خونين ḵẖūn-īn P adj. Bloody, of the colour of blood.

خلق ḵẖulḳ A s. m. Nature, quality, good dis- position, civility, politeness. (Plur. اخلاق).

خوراکي ḵẖụrāk-ī P s. f. Daily allowance of food or of money to purchase it, subsistence-money, board-wages.
