Affliction, distress. خسته جان ḵẖasta-jān or خسته جگر ḵẖasta-jigar or خسته دل ḵẖasta- dil, Heart-broken, sick at heart. خسته دلي ḵẖasta-dil-ī, Wound or disease at heart, the having the heart broken. خسته جاني ḵẖasta- jān-ī, s. f. Broken heart, dejection of mind.

خريده ḵẖarīda P (part. pass. of خريدن) adj. Purchased, bought. P. H. خريدنا ḵẖarīd-nā, v. a. To purchase, to buy.

خاصيت ḵẖāṣṣiyat A s. f. Quality, innate pro- perty, peculiarity, attribute, natural disposition.

خناس ḵẖannās A (from خنس To abscond, to retire; to backbite, to calumniate: because, says Jauharī, he flees when God is named: perhaps rather, like *diabolos, The accuser) s. m. 1. The devil. 2. (met.) A wicked person.

خمس ḵẖams A (Heb. ) adj. Five.

خرق عادت ḵẖarḳ-i-āﻌdat A s. f. Contrary to na- ture, a miracle. (Plur. خرق عادات).
