خدا ḵẖudā : خدا ḵẖudā P s. m. God. خدا پرست ḵẖudā- parast, adj. God-worshipper, godly. خداپرستي ḵẖudā-parast-ī, s. f. The worship of God. خدا ترس ḵẖudā-tars (ترس part. act. of ترسيدن To fear) adj. 1. Fearing God. 2. Virtuous. خدا خدا کرکي ḵẖudā ḵẖudā karke, With difficulty, by hook or by crook. خدا حافظ ḵẖudā ḥāfiz̤, God (is) the protector; adieu, farewell. خدا داني ḵẖudā-dān-ī, s. f. The knowledge of God. خدا شناس ḵẖudā-shinās, adj. Knowing God. خداشناسي ḵẖudā-shinās-ī, s. f. Knowledge of God. خدا طلبي ḵẖudā-t̤alab-ī, s. f. Falsehood. خلاف راٴي ḵẖilāf-i-rāʼe, Against (oneʼs) opinion, or will. خلاف شرع ḵẖilāf-i-sharﻌ, Illegal, unlawful. خلاف عقل ḵẖilāf-i-aﻌḳl, Contrary to reason. خلاف قياس ḵẖilāf-i-ḳiyās, Improbable, absurd, irregular, anomalous. خلاف قياسي ḵẖilāf-ḳiyās-ī, s. f. Improbability, irregularity, anomaly. خلاف مزاج ḵẖilāf-i-mi- zāj, Not agreeing with the habit of the body (medicine, &c.). خلاف وعده ḵẖilāf-waﻌda, Promisebreaker.

A porcupine (Hystrix), a hedge-hog. خارخار ḵẖār-ḵẖār, Disquietude. خاردار ḵẖār-dār, Troublesome, arduous, barbed, thorny. خارزار ḵẖār-zār, s. f. A thicket of thorns, &c. خارستان ḵẖār-istān, s. m. Place of thorns, thistles, &c. خارکش ḵẖār-kash, A woodcutter. خاروخس ḵẖār-o-ḵẖas, Sweepings, any thing vile.

خوض ḵẖauẓ A s. m. Purposing, resolving, intending, considering, consulting, attention.

خراباتي ḵẖarābāt-ī A. s. m. A haunter of taverns and brothels, a rake, a debauchee.

خصي ḵẖaṣī A s. m. A castrated animal (par- ticularly a goat), an eunuch. خصي کرنا ḵẖaṣī karnā, To geld, castrate.

خلايق ḵẖalāʼịḳ A s. f. plur. (of خلق) Men, peo- ple, creatures, the creation.

خوگر ḵẖo-gar P part. Rendered mild, tamed, accustomed.

خاور ḵẖāwar P s. m. 1. The west. 2. The sun. 3. The east.

خشخش ḵẖashḵẖash P s. m. Poppy-seed, a pop- py. (Sans. खसखस).
