حال ḥāl A (from حال Heb. Turned, passed, changed) s. m. 1. State, condition, case. 2. Business, affair, matter, circumstance. 3. Pre- sent time, the present. 4. Ecstacy. (Plur. احوال aḥwāl). حال آنا ḥāl ānā, To be in- spired, to be thrown into ecstacies. حال انکه ḥāl ānki, adv. Whereas, now that, since, though, yet, however, even, although, notwith- standing. حال پرسي ḥāl-purs-ī, s. f. حطب ḥat̤ab A s. f. Firewood.

حسن ḥusn A s. m. Beauty, elegance, goodness. حسن اختيار ḥusn-i-iḵẖtiyār, Free will. حسن خلق ḥusn-i-ḵẖulḳ, A good disposition. حسن ظن ḥusn-i-z̤ann, s. m. A good opinion, a favourable judgment.

حميل ḥamīl A (from حمل) s. m. 1. A son of a whore, a bastard. 2. A surety. 3. Herbs, sticks, &c. carried down by the stream.

حبيب ḥabīb A (from حبّ) adj. used substan- tively, Beloved, a lover, sweetheart, a friend, a mistress.

حيثيت ḥais̤iyat A (from حيث) s. f. 1. Ubi- quity, universality. 2. Capacity, ability, merit. 3. Conditional proposition.

حماما ḥamāmā A s. Amomum.

حضار ḥuẓẓār A s. plur. (of حاضر) The present, the people present, attendants.

حقه ḥuḳḳa A s. m. A casket or little box, a sort

حکمت ḥikmat A s. f. 1. Wisdom, knowledge. 2. Skill, cleverness, contrivance, device, address. 3. Philosophy, mystery, miracle.
