حبيب ḥabīb A (from حبّ) adj. used substan- tively, Beloved, a lover, sweetheart, a friend, a mistress.

حسام ḥusām A (from حسم) s. f. A sharp sword.

حرمت ḥurmat A (from حرم) s. f. 1. Dignity, character. 2. Chastity, honour. 3. Reverence, esteem. حرمت توڙنا ḥurmat toṛnā, To disgrace. حرمت دينا ḥurmat denā, 1. To bestow ho- nour, exalt, dignify. 2. حجامت ḥajāmat A (from حجم He cupped, &c.) s. f. Cupping, scarifying, shaving. A. H. حجامني ḥajjām-anī, s. f. (dakh.) Barberʼs wife.

حزن ḥuzn A s. m. Grief, sadness, affliction, sorrow (plur. احزان aḥzān).

حضر ḥaẓar A s. m. A fixed residence, home, resting, remaining in a place, presence.

حراج ḥirāj A s. plur. (of حرجة) Flocks of camels, thickets of trees.

حلبي ḥalab-ī A adj. From, or belonging to (حلب) Aleppo.
