جگجگيا jigjigiyā H adj. Fawning. H.S̱. جگجگي کرنا jigijigī karnā, v. a. To fawn.

جگر jigar P s. m. The liver, vitals, heart, mind, courage. جگربند jigar-band, s. m. A son. جگرافگار jigar-afgār, adj. Troubled in mind, heart-broken. جگرتفته jigar-tafta, adj. Heart-burnt, in love, in a fever. جگرچاک jigar-chāk, adj. Heart-broken. جگرچاکي jigar-chākī, s. f. Brokenness of heart. جگرجگردگردگر jigar-jigar digar-digar, Mine is mine and yours is yours, or every one knows where his own shoe pinches. جگرخراش jigar-ḵẖarāsh, Heart-rending. جگردوز jigar-doz, Heart-piercing, pathetick. جگرسوخته jīgar-soḵẖta, Heart-inflamed, in love. جگرسوز jigar-soz, Heart-inflaming, tormenting, moving. جگرفگار jigar-figār, Heart-broken, heart-wounded. جگرکاوي jigar-kāv-i, s. f. Anx- iety, trouble of mind. جگرگوشه jigar-gosha, s. m. A lobe of the liver; (met.) One dear or beloved.

جلف jalaf A (correct. jilf) 1. s. m. A miser. 2. adj. Mean, base, despicable. (Plur. اجلاف).

جلادت jalādat A s. f. Activity, agility, strength.

جعد jaﻌd A s. f. A ringlet, a lock of hair.

جيتک jetik यावत् S̱. adv. See جيتا jetā.

جامداني jāmdānī P. s. f. 1. A kind of cloth in which the flowers are wove and not worked (generally muslin). 2. A kind of leather bas- ket. 3. (Applied to utensils of metal, &c.) adj. Flowered, sculptured or embossed.

جهٿاس jhaṭās H s. f. See جهپاس jhapās.

جانچنا jānchnā H v. a. To examine, to inquire into, to ascertain, to try, to prove, to assay.

جوگ jog S s. m. (योग) 1. Junction, fitting. 2. A fortunate moment, opportunity, occasion. 3. Penance, devotion, religious meditation, union with the supreme being by means of abstract contemplation. 4. Certain divisions of a great circle, measured upon the Ecliptick. (See Asiat. Res. Vol. ix. p. 365). 5. (योग्य) adj. Pos- sible, capable, fit. (In compos. it answers to able, worthy, &c.). جوگمايا jog-māyā, s. f. A deceptive power which Jogīs are supposed to possess.
