جڙن jaṛan जटन S̱. s. f. The act of setting jewels. H.S̱. جڙنا jaṛnā, v. a. 1. To strike, to shake off. 2. (for जटन) To join, to make adhere. 3. To stud, bestud, set jewels, fix, enchase.

جنا jannā जनन S̱. v. n. See جننا jannā.

جمعگي jumʼaﻌ-gī A s. f. The weekly allowance to schoolboys paid on a Friday; also, the present given on a Friday by schoolboys to their pre- ceptor.

جدول jadwal A s. f. 1. Lines drawn in a book (as ruling, or to separate the margin). 2. A rivulet. 3. A table, an astronomical table. (Plur. جداول).

جاپ जाप jāp S (r. जप Recite to oneʼs self) s. m. Muttering of prayers, &c. See جپ jap. (A Hindū term).

جلوه jalwa A (or jilwa) s. m. 1. Splendour, lus- tre. 2. The bridal bed or ornaments. جلوه گاه jalwa-gāh, s. f. Nuptial throne, place of display. جلوه گر jalwa-gar, adj. Splendid, conspicuous. جلوه گري jalwa-gar-ī, s. f. 1. Blandishments, affectation. 2. Conspicuity, splendour.

جعبه jaﻌba A s. A quiver.

جنکا janikā H s. m. Double-entendre, an ex- pression having more than one meaning.

جلاه julāh P s. m. 1. A weaver, of the Mu- hammadan religion. 2. (met.) A fool, a blockhead. جلاه ڐاڙهي julāh-ḍāṛhī, s. f. A short round beard, such as julāhs usually wear.

جيتا jītā S̱. adj. 1. (for जीवित) Alive, living. جيتي جي jīte jī, adj. Alive, living. 2. (for जेता) Over, more, above. جيتاهونا jītā honā, To be over, to exceed.
