تخت taḵẖt P s. m. A throne. تخت بخت taḵẖt baḵẖt, 1. Throne and fortune. 2. Accession to the throne, reign. تخت يا تخته taḵẖt yā taḵẖta, Either a throne or a bier (spoken on engaging in a desperate en- terprise).

تخته taḵẖta P s. m. 1. A plank, a board; deck (of a ship). 2. A stool, bench. 3. A bier. 4. A sheet of paper. 5. A bed of flowers, &c. تخته بندي taḵẖta-bandī, s. f. Wainscot, boarding. تخته بندي کرنا taḵẖta-bandī karnā, To board, to plank, floor with boards. تخته گردن taḵẖta-gardan, adj. Thick, broad and straight necked (a horse). تخته نرد taḵẖta-nard, s. m. Backgammon.

تختي taḵẖtī P (dimin. of تخته) s. f. 1. A small plank. 2. A little board like a slate, which children write on. 3. A signet of stone. 4. The breast.

تختگاه taḵẖt-gāh P s. f. The royal residence, me- tropolis, capital.

تخصيص taḵẖṣīṣ A (inf. ii. of خّص) s. f. Particu- larity, peculiarity, appropriation, reserving for oneʼs self.

تخفيف taḵẖfīf A (inf. ii. of خّف) s. f. 1. Ma- king light, alleviating. 2. Despising. 3. Ab- breviating. 4. Alleviation, abatement, relief, remission, abridgment, mitigation, palliation, extenuation, decrease, diminution, decay. 5. Softening the pronunciation of letters, or changing one for another euphoniæ gratia. تخفيف تصديع taḵẖfīf-i-taṣdīﻌ, 1. Banishing care. 2. Relieving pain or trouble. تخفيف دينا taḵẖfīf- denā, To alleviate, assuage, &c. تخفيف کرنا taḵẖfīf karnā, To extenuate, mitigate, allay, remit.

تخلخل taḵẖalḵẖul A (inf. ii. of خلخل) s. 1. Put- ting on or wearing the ornament called خلخال ḵẖalḵẖāl. 2. Separation.

تخلص taḵẖalluṣ A (inf. v. of خلص) s. m. The titular name assumed by poets; as, Saudā was the taḵẖallūṣ of Mirzā Muhammad Rafīﻌ.
