تلاوا tulāwā S̱. (r. तुल Weigh) s. m. Part of a Hindūstanī carriage, which rests on the axle- tree arm and supports the body of the carriage.

تعميه taﻌmiya A (inf. ii. of عمي) s. m. 1. Act of rendering blind. 2. Concealing the meaning of a sentence or discourse. (Generally applied to a chronogram after the manner of abjad, when the clause, which should give the date, fails in accuracy, and the excess or defect is obscurely indicated by another word. Ex. gr. ازحوض لطيف اب بردار az ḥauẓ-i-lat̤īf āb bardār, Draw water from the pellucid cistern. The letters in حوض لطيف make 943, from which substracting those of اب 3, we have the date required 940). 3. An enigma.

تکلف takalluf A (inf. v. of کلف) s. m. 1. Inconvenience, ceremony, trouble, taking much pains oneʼs self in any matter. 2. Extravagance, pro- fusion. 3. Preparation. (Plur. تکلفات takal- lufāt). تکلفات دربار takallufāt-i-darbār, Ex- pending much. تکلفات رسمي takallufāt-i-rasmī, Ceremonious attention, empty or formal com- pliments. تکلفات مجلس takallufāt-i-majlis, The ceremonies of society, etiquette. تکلف برطرف takalluf bar-t̤araf, Waving ceremony. تکلف کرنا takalluf karnā, To take pains, to be cere- monious (in). تکلف مزاج takalluf-mizāj, adj.
