آوبهگت āʼobhagat H or āʼobhagati, s. f. Civil re- ception or salutation, welcome, courteousness.

ات گت at gat S̱. (अति and गन Gone) adj. or adv. Very much, very great, excessive.

اجگت a-jugat S̱. (अ and युक्त United with, fitted) adj. Unfit; s. f. Violence, oppression, compulsion. ¶ ajgut for ادبهت अद्भुत adbhut, q. v.

اسنگت असंगत a-sangat S adj. Improper, ab- surd, bad.

بهگت bhagat भक्त S̱. s. m. See بهکت bhakt. بهگت کهيلنا bhagat-khelnā, v. n. To act (a play), to imitate, to mimick. بهگت هونا bhagat-honā, v. n. To be initiated as a devotee, to be affi- liated to a religious order. (This is peculiar to the low tribes. The initiation consists in putting a necklace of beads round the neck, and marking a circle on the forehead. After which, the initiated person is bound to refrain from the use of spirituous liquors, flesh, &c.).

بهگتمان bhugatmān भुज्यमान S̱. adj. Fit to enjoy, deserving punishment.

بهگتنا bhugatnā S̱. (from بهوگ भोग) v. a. To en- joy, to suffer, to receive the reward of virtue or the punishment of crime, to be requited.

بگت bi-gati S. (विगती i. e. वि and गति Con- duct) s. f. Badness.

جاگت jāgat S̱. (जागर्त्ति r. जागृ Wake) s. f. Watchfulness, waking.

جوگت jūgat युक्ति S̱. s. f. 1. Manner, mode. 2. Skill, cleverness. 3. A pun, or double meaning. See جگت jugat. جوگت باز jūgat-bāz, A punster, or rather one who is fond of uttering double meanings.

جگت jugat युक्ति S̱. s. f. Address, dexterity, contrivance, counsel, wit, a pun, art. جگت بولنا jugat bolnā, To pun. جگت باز jugat-bāz, Pun- ster, quibbler. جگت بازي jugat-bāzī, s. f. Quibble, pun, witticism, economy.

جگت जगत् jagat S s. m. 1. The world. 2. A buttress. جگت اجاگر jagat-ujāgar, Enlight- ening the world. جگت دکهي जगद्दुःखी ja- gat-dukhī, A tyrant.
