The seeking of God. خدا کا نام لينا ḵẖudā kā nām lenā, (dakh. i. q. انصاف کرنا) To administer justice, to decide (?). خدا کرکر ḵẖudā karkar (dakh. i. q. ناگاه) Suddenly. خدا کري ḵẖudā kare, Would to God. خدا کيا کري ḵẖudā kyā kare, What will fate produce? or what is the will of God? (an expression used in doubtful circum- stances). خدا کي ماري هونا ḵẖudā ke māre honā, To be unfortunate, to suffer by the decrees of fate. خدانخواسته ḵẖudā na-ḵẖẉāsta, or خدا نا کرده ḵẖudā nā karda, God forbid!

خداوند ḵẖudā-wand P s. m. Possessor, master, husband. خداوند نعمت ḵẖudāwand-i-niﻌmat, 1. (A form of address to superiours) Beneficent master or lord. 2. Rich, opulent.

خداوندي ḵẖudāwand-ī P s. f. Sovereignty, lord- ship, divinity, providence.

خدايا ḵẖudā-yā P s. voc. O God! P. A. خدايتعاليٰ ḵẖudā-e-taʼāﻌlạ̄, The most high God.

خدمت ḵẖidmat A s. f. Service, attendance, em- ployment, ministry, office, appointment, duty, use. (Arab. plur. خدمات ḵẖidmāt). خدمت کرنا ḵẖidmat karnā, 1. To serve, to attend, to wait on. 2. (met.) To satirize, to beat. خدمتگار ḵẖidmat-gār, s. m. A butler, a servant, attend- ant. خدمتگاري ḵẖidmat-gār-ī, s. f. Attendance, service, ministry. A. P. خدمتگذاري ḵẖidmat-guẕār-ī, s. f. Service, readiness to serve.

خدمتي ḵẖidmat-ī A. s. Servant, attendant. adj. Employed, official, ministerial.

خدنگ ḵẖadang P s. m. A tree of which arrows are usually made; an arrow: the white poplar tree.

خديو ḵẖideʼo (ḵẖadeʼo P or ḵẖudeʼo) s. m. Lord, master, king, mighty monarch. A. P. خذف ḵẖaẕaf, s. See خزف ḵẖazaf.

زنخدان zanaḵẖdān P s. m. The chin, the pit in the chin.
