جهنجهني jhinjhinī H s. f. The tinkling sensa- tion felt when a limb is asleep.

جٿا jaṭā H s. m. See جاٿ jāṭ.

جونڐري jaunḍrī H s. f. The name of a grain. (Joʼār. Holcus sorgum).

جنب jamb A s. A side, a part, a tract of country.

جيتيا jītiyā जीवत्पुत्रिका S̱. s. f. Name of a Hindū fast, with sacrifice to and worship of Devī (jītiyā-barat), observed by women, who have lost several children, to preserve the re- mainder.

جواهر jawāhir A s. m. (plur. of جوهر but used in either number) 1. A jewel, gem, &c. (Plur. جواهرات). 2. Essences, substances. جواهرخانه jawāhir-ḵẖāna, Jewel-office. جواهرنگار jawāhir- nigār, Ornamented with jewels.

جاگابندي jāgā-band-ī S̱. (r. जागृ Wake, and r. बन्ध Bind) s. f. Drowsiness, sleepiness.

جهمکا jhumkā H s. m. 1. The bell-shaped pendant of an ear-ring. 2. The wain, Ursa major. 3. A bunch of flowers or fruit. 4. Name of a flower.
