جيمنا jīmnā S (जेमन) v. a. To eat.

جهر jhar H s. f. 1. Heavy rain. 2. The heat from a fire. جهربرنا jhar barnā, To burn, to be all in flames.

جنجال जनजाल janjāl S s. m. Trouble, diffi- culty, plague, embarrassment, perplexity.

جانا jānā S̱. (r. या Go, attain) v. n. To go, to be, to pass, to reach, to continue. جاتا رهنا jātā rahnā, To be lost, to be missing, to disappear, vanish, to go away, to pass away.

جيوڙا jiyūṛā S̱. or jīwṛā, s. m. 1. (जीव) Life, soul, sweetheart, beloved. 2. (जीविका) An- nual wages to washermen and others.

جهوپڙي jhopṛī H s. f. See جهونپڙي jhompṛī.

جوت jot S̱. or joti (ज्योतिः) s. f. 1. Brilliancy, lustre, light. 2. The sunbeams. 3. The flame of a candle or lamp. 4. Vision. جوت مان jot-mān (ज्योतिष्मान्) Luminous, bright. جوت سروپ joti-sarūp (ज्योतिःस्वरूप Self- resplendent) adj. Luminous (an epithet of God). ¶ jot (from جوتنا jotnā, q. v.) s. f. Cultivation, cultivated land, tillage.

جڙاٴي juṛāʼī S̱. (from جوڙنا q. v.) s. f. The price of joining, mending, &c. S̱. H. جڙپيڙ jaṛ-peṛ, s. f. Root and branch. جڙپيڙسي اکهاڙنا jaṛ-peṛ se ukhāṛnā, v. a. To extirpate.

جهانپنا jhāmpnā H v. a. To cover, to shut.
