جک jak यक्ष S̱. s. m. 1. When treasure, &c. is buried, an animal (sometimes a man) is killed and buried with it as a guard. This animal is called jak, and receives orders to allow no one else to take up the treasure, &c. 2. (met.) A miser, called also جک کا گماشته jak kā gu- māshta. H.P. جکڙبند jakaṛ-band, adj. Tight.
