تقطيع taḳt̤iﻌ A (inf. ii. of قطع) s. f. 1. The cæsura or pause in reading poetry. 2. Scan- ning of verse. 3. Cutting into parts, dissection.

تهل thal स्थल S̱. s. m. 1. Place, firm or dry ground. 2. A lionʼs or tigerʼs den. See تهر thar. تهل بيڙا thal beṛā (स्थल and वेटप) Place of abode and means of attaining oneʼs de- sires. تهلچر thal-char, adj. Moving on land, terrestrial (an animal).

تلاتل तलातल talātal S s. m. The region under the earth.

تمجيد tamjīd A (inf. ii. of مجد) s. f. The glorifi- cation of God; hence, the hymn or prayer that is pronounced from the minarets an hour and a half before dawn.

تامل taʼammul A (inf. v. of امل) s. m. Medita- tion, reflection, consideration, hesitation, pur- pose. تامل کرنا taʼammul karnā, To collect oneʼs self, consider, reflect, deliberate.

تير tīr P s. m. 1. An arrow. 2. The planet Mercury. 3. The fourth solar month of the Persian year (corresponding to Sans. श्रावण srāwaṇ, or Hind. sāwan). 4. A beam, a mast. تيرانداز tīr-andāz, s. m. توحيد tauḥīd A (inf. ii. of وحد) s. f. Unity, be- lieving in the unity of the deity.

تلملانا talmalānā H v. n. 1. To be tantalized. 2. To grieve, to be agitated.

تنتر तंत्र tantr S s. m. 1. Name of a religious treatise teaching peculiar and mystical forms and rites for the worship of the deities or the attain- ment of superhuman power. It is mostly in the shape of a dialogue between Siva and Durgā, who are the peculiar deities of the Tantrikas. 2. Charm, enchantment.
