ترت پهرت turt phurt S̱. (त्वरित) adv. Instantly, quickly, hastily, directly, presently, immediately.

تـﮩ‍ايت tihāyat S̱. s. m. 1. A third person. 2. A court of inquiry, three or four persons by whom any cause is arbitrated, an arbitrator.

تند tund P adj. Active, quick, rapid, swift, fast, hot, spirited, fierce, furious, sharp, severe, acrid, acrimonious. تندخو tund-ḵẖo, adj. Irascible, of a fiery disposition, furious, passionate, fretful. تندخوٴي tund-ḵẖo-ī, s. f. Passionateness, pee- vishness, aptitude to unseasonable and excessive anger. تندرفتار tund-raftār, adj. Fast-going. تندزبان tund-zabān, adj. Eloquent, talking ra- pidly. تندمزاج tund-mizāj, adj. Hotheaded, passionate. تندهونا tund honā, To be angry, to be displeased.

تپانا tapānā H v. a. To pour a libation.

تال tāl S s. m. 1. (ताल) Beating time (in musick), musical time or measure, chime. 2. Slapping or clapping the hands together or against the arms, &c. 3. A musical instrument of bell-metal or brass (a sort of cymbal) played with a stick. 4. (ताड) The palm tree. (Borassus flabelliformis). 5. (तडाग) A pond. تال دينا tāl denā, To chime: to slap the hands on the arms before fighting. تال مارنا ياٿهوکنا tāl-mārnā or -ṭhoknā, To strike the hand against the arms preparatory to wrestling.

تجنيس tajnīs P (inf. ii. of جنس Ch. Kind) s. f. 1. Making of the same kind; resem- blance, analogy. 2. Equivocation. 3. Pun- ning to the eye instead of the ear, alliteration. تجنيس خطي tajnīs-i-khat̤t̤ī, Writing words alike which are pronounced differently, a sort of equi- voque in writing; as pul, pal and pil in this couplet of Saudā: يـﮩـ نـﮩودريا که جس سي گذريي پل باندهکر موج چشم عاشقان دي توڙپل مين پل کي پل yih na ho daryā ki jis se guẕriye pul bāndhkar; mauj-i-chashm-i-āﻌshiḳāṅ de toṛ pal meṅ pil ke pul, This is not a river that you can cross by means of a bridge; the waves that arise from the eyes of lovers would demolish a bridge in a moment by their shock.
