تعيناتي taʼīﻌnāt-ī A. s. f. The object or business of an appointment, &c. tour of service, attendance, duty.

تقي taḳī A adj. Pious, fearing God. ¶ tuḳạ̄, s. Piety, fear of God.

ترکتازي turk-tāzī P f. s 1. Inroad, depredation, attack. 2. Feigned anger (of a lover). 3. Walking affectedly or with a tossing about of the body.

تشريف tashrīf A (inf. ii. of شرف) s. f. 1. Honouring, exalting. 2. Investing with a splendid robe. تشريف ارزاني فرمانا tashrīf arzānī farmānā, and تشريف فرمانا tashrīf farmānā (mean simply) To go, or to come. تشريف ليجانا tashrīf lejānā, To go, and تشريف لانا tashrīf lānā, To come, i. e. to honour with oneʼs pre- sence (never said of oneʼs self, except by a king).

تلنا talnā H v. a. To fry.

تير tīr P s. m. 1. An arrow. 2. The planet Mercury. 3. The fourth solar month of the Persian year (corresponding to Sans. श्रावण srāwaṇ, or Hind. sāwan). 4. A beam, a mast. تيرانداز tīr-andāz, s. m. An archer, a bowman. تيراندازي tīr-andāz-ī, s. f. Archery. تيرباران tīr- bārān, A punishment, in which the culprit is shot with arrows. تيرپرتاب tīr-partāb, The

توهي tau-hī तदाहि S̱. adv. Then even, still, in that case, at that very time.

تـﮩديد tahdīd A (inf. ii. of هدّ) s. f. Terrifying, threatening, menace, threat.

تمـﮩيد tamhīd A (inf. ii. of مـﮩد) s. f. Disposition, arrangement, settlement, management, confirma- tion, preliminary, preamble, preface, preparative, introduction. تمـﮩيدکرنا tamhīd karnā, To dis- pose, to premise, &c.

تبختر tabaḵẖtur A (inf. ii. of بختر) s. m. Strut- ting, walking with a haughty gait or a rolling motion.
