پن pan S s. m. (पण) 1. Vow, promise, reso- lution. 2. An aggregate number consisting of twenty ganḍās (q. v.) or, eighty kauṛīs: (and sixteen pans make a kāhan). 3. (for पर्ण) contract of پان; as پن بٿا pan-baṭṭā, s. m. A betel box.

پينجني penjnī पदरंजिनी S̱. s. f. Little bells fastened round the feet of pigeons and of chil- dren.

پهرانا phirānā H (caus. of پهرنا) v. a. To cause to turn, to whirl, wheel, make to go about, to re- turn, to change, to roll, shift, wander.

پال pāl H s. m. f. 1. A sail. 2. A small tent. 3. Layers of straw, leaves, &c. between which unripe mangos are ripened.

پٿوانا paṭwānā H (caus. of پٿنا) v. a. 1. To provide money. 2. To water. See پاٿنا pāṭnā.

پسيو paseʼo S̱. (प्रस्वेदः) s. m. Perspiration, sweat.

پرتها प्रथा prathā S s. f. Immemorial custom.

پرم परम param S adj. Best, most excellent, chief, principal, first, supreme. پرمارتهـ para- mārth (from ارتهـ Meaning, intention) s. m. The first pursuit, the best end, virtue, merit. پرمارتهي paramārth-ī, adj. Religious, seeking the best end, virtuous. پرمانند param-ānand, Great plea- sure. پرم پد param-pad, s. m. Heaven or beati- tude. پرم دهام param-dhām, s. m. Paradise. پرم گت param-gati, s. f. Eternal felicity, hea- venly bliss.
