پچکهنا pach-khanā S̱. (पंच Five, and खंड Part) adj. Consisting of five parts or divisions (a house, &c.). S̱.H. پچلڙا pach-laṛā (पंच Five, and لڙ Row) adj. Of five strings (a necklace, &c.). S̱.H. پچلڙي pach-laṛī, s. f. A necklace consisting of five rows or strings.

پناه panāh P s. f. Shade, shelter; protection; asylum, refuge. پناه دينا panāh denā, To pro- tect, to harbour. پناه کسي سي مانگنا panāh kisī se māngnā, 1. To seek protection. 2. To avoid.

پنياٴي punyāʼī S̱. (from पुण्य) s. f. 1. A vir- tuous action, performed (according to those who hold the doctrine of the metempsychosis) in one state of existence, the reward of which is received in a future transmigration. 2. Merit of an ancestor rewarded in his descendants.

پتبرت patibrat पातिव्रत्य S̱. s. m. Chastity.

پيرگي pīra-gī P s. f. (perhaps the same as پيري) Old age.

پونٿهي ponṭhī प्रोष्ठी S̱. s. f. A kind of small fish. (Cyprinus chrysoparius. Buch.).

پوچهي pūchhī पुच्छ S̱. s. f. The tail of a fish.

پرزه purza P s. m. A scrap (generally applied to paper), piece, bit, rag, frippery; the nap of cloth or the down of birds. پرزي هونا purze honā, To be severely wounded in battle.

پروا purwā पूर्ववायु S̱. s. f. An easterly wind.

پرورد parward P (from پروردن) 1. adj. Bred, reared, brought up, nou- rished. 2. (used substantively) A slave.
