ارز uruz A or urz, s. m. Rice.

استحباب istiḥbāb A (inf. x. of حبّ Heb. He loved) s. m. 1. Contracting friendship. 2. An action the performance of which is merito- rious and the omission not criminal; work of supererogation.

امل amal H s. m. Intoxication.

انرس an-ras S̱. s. m. Want of flavour or enjoy- ment; disgust, coolness or misunderstanding between friends.

آپهو āphū H s. f. Opium.

اٿبات is̤bāt A (inf. iv. of ٿبت Heb. To be fixed) s. Confirmation, proof, affirmation, as- certainment, certain knowledge. (The gender of this word in Hindī depends on that of the ob- ject; as, اٿبات مدعيٰ کیا is̤bāt-i-muddaāﻌ kiyā, اٿبات تقریرکي is̤bāt-i-taḳrīr kī): (Hunter).

احدیت aḥadīyat A s. f. Unity, the being sin- gular.

اوٿ oṭ S̱. (perhaps, from r. वट Surround) s. f. m. Protection, shade, shelter, screen, covering, concealment, partition. اوٿ کرنا oṭ karnā, To conceal, screen, &c. اوٿ هونا oṭ honā, To be concealed, &c.

آچمن आचमन āchaman S s. m. Act of sip- ping a little water from the palm of the hand by way of purification.

اکیلنا ukelnā S̱. (उत् and r. किल Cast) v. a. To turn up.
