انکنا anknā S̱. (r. अंक Mark) v. n. To be valued, prized, examined, approved of.

افگني afgan-ī P (in compos.) s. f. Throwing, casting.

ا (for अ) a S A name of Vishnu: also, when prefixed to a word, it is an inseparable particle, signifying negation or privation; so, ادهرم अधर्म्म Injustice, from دهرم धर्म्म Justice; ادهن अधन Poor, from دهن धन Wealth.

اعتکاف iﻌtikāf A (inf. viii. of عکف) s. m. 1. Continuing in the temple or mosque (especially at Mecca). 2. Restraining, curbing the pas- sions from religious motives, as in lent.

آڙهت āṛhat H s. f. Agency, commission, broker- age, sale by commission. H. S̱. اڙهک کرنا uṛhak ḳarnā, v. n. To seek or cry for an absent person. (Applied to a child only).

اپهلت अ and फलित In fruit a-phalit S. adj. Not in fruit (a fruit tree).

انگيا angiyā S̱. (from अंग Body) s. f. m. Bodice, stays.

اکثیر iks̤īr A. s. f. for اکسیر iksīr, q. v.

اضلاع aẓlāﻌ A s. plur. (of ضلع ẓilﻌ) Ribs, sides; districts, divisions (of land); convexities, arches.
