پابوس pā-bos P (پا Foot, and part. act. of بوسيدن To kiss) part. or s. m. Kissing the feet, i. e. Adoring, worshipping, revering. پابوس هونا pā- bos-honā, v. n. To worship, revere, adore.

پردچهنا pradachh̤inā S̱. (or pradakh̤inā) s. f. Going round an object to which respect is intended with the right always towards it (a religious ceremony), circuit, circumambulation.

پدا piddā H s. m. Name of a bird. S. پدارتهـ पदार्थ (पद see under پد, and अर्थ Meaning, request) padārth, s. m. 1. Thing, substantial or material form of being; a rarity, a good, a blessing, a delicacy or exquisite food. 2. The meaning of a word. 3. A category or predicament in logick, of which seven are main- tained, viz. substance, quality, action, identity, variety, relation, and non existence.

پنتهـ panth S̱. (पथः or पन्थाः) s. m. 1. A road, path, way. 2. A sect, a religious order.

پشم pashm P s. f. 1. Wool, hair, fur; a thing of no moment. 2. Pubes tum maris tum feminæ. پشم پرمارنا pashm par mārnā, To be perfectly contented and independent, to despise, to dis- regard. پشم سمجهنا pashm samajhnā, To des- pise. پشم نه اکهڙنا pashm na ukhaṛnā, To suffer nothing from the enmity of another, not a hair of the head to be touched. (Spoken in great contempt of an adversary).

پيئي peʼī पेटक S̱. s. f. A small basket, a portmanteau. ت

پيتامبر पीतांबर pītāmbar S s. m. Silk cloth of a yellow colour; (vulgarly) a silk cloth.

پاتر पात्र pātr S or pātra, s. m. A vessel; adj. Capable, worthy, able, eligible, fit.

پوري pūrī पूरः S̱. s. f. A kind of fresh cake fried in butter or ghī.
