انانیت anānīyat A s. f. Egotism, boasting, ar- rogance.

اجلنا ujalnā S̱. (उज्जवलन from उत् and r. ज्वल Shine) v. n. To become clean, to shine, to be bright.

اکراه ikrāh A (inf. iv. of کره) s. f. Aversion, ab- horrence, detestation, horrour.

التها ulthā H s. m. Translation (of a writing).

اوليا auliyā A s. plur. (of ولي) 1. Friends, com- panions (especially, of the prophets). 2. The saints, the apostles, the holy. اوليأالله auliyā-i-allāh, Friends of God.

اتهوا अथ Now, &c. and वा Or atha-vā S. conj. Or. S. اتي इति (r. इ Go) itī, a particle implying Cause, manifestation, reference, something ad- ditional, conclusion: and may be translated by Thus therefore, lo, behold, et cetera, so says, finis, the end; in which latter sense it is usually written like زیاده چه in Persian and تم in Arabic, at the end of a book, letter, &c.

آوازه āwāza P s. m. Report, fame, rumour, conversation, talking aloud.

اگانا ugānā S̱. (caus. of اگنا) v. a. To cause to grow, &c.

اوندهنا aundhā-nā H v. a. To turn upside down, to reverse, invert, overturn, overset, spill.

اعتقاد iﻌtiḳād A (inf. viii. of عقد) s. m. Con- fidence, faith, trust, belief. (Plur. اعتقادات).
