اپٿنا upṭanā S̱. (उद्वर्त्तन) s. m. A composition of perfumes, flour, &c. used to rub the body with.

احتیاجات iḥtiyājāt A s. plur. (of احتیاج) Requi- site things, wants, necessaries.

انچرا anchrā S̱. (अंचल) s. m. The end or bor- der of a cloth, veil, shawl, &c.

اولا olā S̱. (ओल adj. Wet) s. m. 1. Hail. 2. The name of a kind of sweetmeat. اولاهوجانا olā hojānā, To become cold. جون سرمنڐاياتون اولي پڙي joṅ sir munḍāyā toṅ ole paṛe, I had no sooner shaved my head than a shower of hail came on. (Spoken of one who has just en- gaged in an enterprise which turns out unfortu- nate).

اٿقل as̤ḳal A adj. compar. (of ٿقیل) Heavier, heaviest, very heavy.

ابني abinai S̱. (अ and विनय Humility) s. m. Pertness, wantonness, want of submission.

انامت anāmat A. for امانت amānat, q. v.

ارگانا argā-nā S̱. 1. v. a. To separate, to put on one side. 2. v. n. To be separated, to be set apart.

اهليا अहल्या ahalyā S n. prop. 1. Wife of Gautama, q. v. 2 Name of an Apsarā.

اشگون a-shagūn S̱. s. m. Bad omen, portent.
