بک بک bak bak S̱. (see s̱. بک) s. f. Prattle, foolish talk, babble, clack, gabble. بک بک کرنا bak bak karnā, To prattle, to chatter, to gab- ble. (Arab. بق بق).

بهلأي bhalā-ī S̱. s. f. Goodness, good health, wel- fare.

بسته basta P part. pass. (from بستن) Bound, shut, closed, fastened; frozen. بسته کار basta- kār, adj. Distressed. (Plur. بستگان). s. m. Cloth in which any thing is folded up, a parcel, a bundle: see بستا.

بيمات be-māt विमाता S̱. s. f. A step-mother. بيمات بهاٴي bemāt-bhāʼī, A brother born of a different mother by the same father, a half bro- ther by the fatherʼs side.

بيدلت be-dalat H (perhaps, for بيدولت) adj. (dakh.) Unfortunate, unlucky.

بدو badū A s. f. 1. Beginning, appearance. 2. The desert. 3. (for بدوي) A tribe of Arabs in- habiting the desert.

برده barda P s. m. and f. A captive, a slave. برده فروش barda-farosh, A slave merchant.

بپر विप्र bipr S or vipra, s. m. A Brāhmaṇ.

بهڙکيل bhaṛk-el H (from بهڙکنا) adj. Shy, skittish, coy, wild, untamed.

بٿوار baṭ-wār S̱. (r. वट Divide) s. m. A tax ga- therer who collects a tax levied in kind.
