بهبهوکا bhabhūkā H 1. s. m. Blaze, flame, explo- sion. 2. adj. Red (as a coal, sometimes ap- plied to the splendour of a beloved personʼs countenance); splendid, beautiful.

بچاو bachāʼo H (from بچنا) s. m. Protection, de- fence, safety, security, preservation, salvation, escape. P. H. بچپن bach-pan (بچه and پن) s. m. Child- hood, infancy.

بتيسا battīs-ā H s. m. A medicine composed of thirty-two ingredients, usually given to mares after foaling.

بس bas वश S̱. s. m. Power, will, command, advantage, authority. بس کرنا bas karnā, To overpower, to bring to submission. بس آنا bas ānā, To be obtained, to come into oneʼs power.

باده bāda P s. m. Wine, spirits. باده پرست bāda- parast, adj. Addicted to wine; drunkard. باده کش bāda-kash, Wine-drawer. باده کشي bāda- kash-ī, s. f. Wine-drawing. باده گسار bāda-gusār, or باده نوش bāda-nosh, wine-drinker. باده نوشي bāda-nosh-ī, s. f. Wine-drinking.

بدياوان विद्यावान् bidyā-wān S or vidyā-vān, adj. Learned, scientifick.

باسکي bāsukī S (वासुकि) s. m. The chief of serpents, which is fabled to support the universe, and which was used as a string to whirl the mountain Mandar in churning the ocean for the amr̤it, &c.

بياکرن baiyākaraṇ S (वैयाकरण) s. m. A grammarian.

بـﮩاري buhārī H s. f. A broom.

بهيرو भैरव bhairav S s. m. A name of Siva, but more especially of an inferiour form or mani- festation of that deity. H. P. بـﮩ‍يروبنه bahīr o buna, The baggage of an army.
