بسترا bastarā H s. m. The name of a plant. (Cal- licarpa Americana).

بهڙکانا bhaṛkānā H v. a. 1. To frighten, to scare. 2. To blow up into a flame, to kindle (a fire).

بوڙنا būṛnā H v. n. 1. To dive. 2. To be im- merged, to drown, to dip.

بوتا būtā S̱. (from भवन See هوت and هونا) s. m. Strength, power, ability.

بانات bānāt H s. f. Broad cloth.

بام bām P s. m. An upper story, the terrace or roof of a house.

بپتا biptā S̱. (विपत् or विपत्ति) s. f. Adversity, cala- mity, misfortune, distress.

بنا bannā A (from بنا) s. m. A mason, a builder.

بلي बली bal-ī S adj. Strong, powerful.

بانس bāṅs वंश S̱. s. m. 1. A bamboo. 2. A measure of about ten feet, used to measure tanks, ditches, and excavations in general. (A cube of one bāṅs is called a chaukā). بانس پرچڙهنا bāṅs par chaṛhnā, v. n. To be branded with infamy.
