بوندا būndā विंदु S̱. s. m. A large drop. بونداباندي būndā bāndī, Small and interrupted drop- ping of rain.

بنچر ban-char वनचर S̱. s. m. A monkey.

بکي bikkī H s. m. A partner (at play, &c. Gilch.).

بـﮩ‍ي bihī P s. f. 1. A quince; and (in India) a guava. بـﮩ‍ي دانه bihī-dāna, s. m. Quince-seed. 2. (from به Good) Goodness, the being well or better.

بکرا bakrā वर्कर S̱. s. m. A he goat.

بيڙا bīṛā S̱. s. m. 1. The same as s̱. بيرا bīrā, q. v. 2. A thong tied to the hilt of a sword by which it is retained in the scabbard, a sword knot. بيڙااٿهانا bīṛā uṭhānā, v. a. To undertake a bu- siness. بيڙاڐالنا bīṛā ḍālnā, To propose a pre- mium for the performance of a task. (These expressions originate in a custom that prevailed of throwing a bīṛā of betel into the midst of an assembly, in token of proposal to any person to undertake some difficult affair then requisite to be performed; and, the person who took up the betel bound himself to perform the business in question).

براٿ birāṭ S s. m. 1. (विराट्) The em- bodied spirit. 2. (विराट) A sovereign.

بلني bilnī H s. f. A sty or stithe, the disorder in the eyelids.

براهمن ब्राह्मण brāhmaṇ S s. m. A Brahman.
