هزبر hizabr A or hizbar, s. m. A lion. adj. Thick, great, strong.

هار hār H (in compos.) means the performer of any act, and corresponds frequently to the English terminations er or ing; as, بہارآٴي نه ديکهن هارآيا انارآيا نه چاکهن هارآيا Bahār āʼī na dekhan-hār āyā; anār āyā, na chākhan-hār āyā. The spring is arrived, but no one is come to behold it; the pomegranates are ready, but there is no one to taste them. P. S. هار hār, 1. s. m. (s. हार) A necklace of pearls, &c. a wreath, a chaplet (of flowers, worn as a necklace). 2. (for हारि) A flock (of cattle). 3. Pasturage. 4. s. f. Loss, for- feiture, discomfiture. 5. part. act. (from هارنا) Being overcome. هارماننا يا مان لينا hār-mānnā, or -mān lenā, To give up a dispute, to give up in despair, to acknowledge all lost. هارجيت hār jīt, Gambling, hazard. هار جيت کرنا hār jīt karnā, To gamble.

هماتمي hamātamī H s. (dakh.) Contest, competition, equality, rivalry: see هم سري ham-sar-ī, under p. هم ham.

هرگنڐا hurgunḍā H s. m. Name of a vegetable. P.S. هرگني har-gun-ī (Persian هر Every, and Sans. गुणी Skilful) adj. Skilful, clever.

همم himam A s. f. plur. of همت himmat, q. v.

هڙوار haṛ-wār S̱. or هڙواڙ haṛ-wāṛ, s. m. A place where bones are laid.

هرياول hariyāwal S̱. s. f. m. Verdure.

هٿهي हठी haṭh-ī S adj. Peevish, obstinate, per- verse.

هلا hallā H s. m. 1. Uproar, tumult. 2. Assault. ¶ hilā, 1. adj. Domesticated, tame. هلا ملا hilā-milā, Amicable, attached. 2. s. m. Slime, mud.
