وصف waṣf A s. m. Praise, encomium, descrip- tion, description of qualities, merit, virtue, worth, quality, attribute, epithet. وصف کرنا waṣf karnā, To describe.

وزارت wizārat A (from وزر Heb. ) s. f. 1. The dignity of wazīr. 2. The office of prime minister or grand vizir; ministry.

وقت waḳt A s. m. Time, season, opportunity. (met.) Adversity. Plur. اوقات auḳāt, s. f. Times, &c. وقت بوقت waḳt ba-waḳt, From time to time. وقت بيوقت waḳt be-waḳt, In season or out of season, a time that admits not of delay, constantly, perpetually. وقت پر waḳt par, At (proper) time, seasonably, betimes. وقت پڙنا waḳt paṛnā, To suffer misfortunes, to be distressed. وقت کاٿنا waḳt kāṭnā, To pass away the time. وقت کي وقت waḳt ke waḳt, At all times. وقت نازک waḳt-i-nāzuk, Deli- cate times. وقت نا وقت waḳt nā waḳt, Occa- sionally, without any stated time. وقت ياب waḳt-yāb, Finding an opportunity.

وفق wafḳ A s. m. 1. A sufficiency. 2. Concord, agreement, congruity.

وقفيت waḳf-īyat A s. f. The book in which le- gacies for pious uses are registered.

وزني wazn-ī A. adj. Heavy, weighty.

ويل wail A s. m. Calamity, reprisal, revenge. ويل کش wail-kash, adj. Vindictive.

وايو वायु vāyu S s. m. Air, wind, or its perso- nified deification.

وتنا wutnā H or witnā, adj. That much. See اتنا utnā.

وال wāl H m. Denotes (in compos.) agent, doer, keeper, man, inhabitant, master, lord, possessor, owner; as, رکهوال يا والا raḵẖ-wāl, or -wālā, A keeper; ناووالا nāw-wālā, Boatman; دلي وال يا والا dillī-wāl, or -wālā, In- habitant of Dillī; گهروالا ghar-wālā, Master or keeper of a house; لکهني والا likhne-wālā, Writer; هوني والا hone-wālā, Becoming, about to be.
