ندهان निधान nidhān S s. m. A place, house, mansion, abode, receptacle, the subject in which any quality inheres.

نردهکاري निरधिकारी nir-adhikārī S adj. Without right or title or authority.

نوازش nawāzish P (from نواختن) s. f. Caresses, blandishment, kindness, politeness, favour, pa- tronage. نوازش کرني nawāzish karnī, To caress, to favour, to patronise. P. H. نوازنا nawāz-nā, v. a. To cherish, to comfort, to caress, to favour.

ندهڙک ni-dhaṛak H adv. or adj. Without fear, fearlesly, abruptly. See s̱. نڐر ni-ḍar.

نانکاري nānkār-ī P. adj. Belonging to nānkār, q. v.

نسپتي nis-patī निशापति S̱. s. The moon.

نحيف naḥīf A (from نحف) adj. Lean, meagre, weak, slender.

نرسنگا nar-singā नलशृंग S̱. s. m. A horn (mu- sical), a wind instrument. S. نرسنگهـ नरसिंह or नृसिंह nar-singh or nr̤i- singh, s. m. The name of the fourth Avatār or incarnation of Vish̤ṇu, which happened in the Satya-yuga, upon the following occasion. Hiranya-kasipu, an impious prince, was en- raged at his son Prahlād for worshipping the Almighty, and tried every means of destroying him, by poison, by throwing him into fire, into the ocean, &c. yet Prahlād lived. "If your God is present every where," says Hiranya- kasipu, "let him come from an alabaster pil- lar;" on which Nar-singha appeared, with the lower part of a man and the upper of a lion,

نربندهو निर्बंधु nir-bandhu S adj. Friendless, without relations.

نسبتي nisbat-ī A. 1. adj. Related, having reference to. 2. s. m. A wifeʼs brother.
