نيچا nīchā S̱. (see نيچ) adj. Below, down, low. نيچا اونچا nīchā ūnchā, Up and down, uneven ground, abrupt. نيچي سرون سي بولنا nīche su- roṅ se bolnā, To sing with a low voice, or hum a tune. (Jocosè autem crepitus ventris hâcce voce subintelligitur).

نکات nikāt A s. plur. of نکته nukta, q. v.

ننگ nang P s. m. 1. Honour, reputation, es- teem. 2. (on the contrary) Disgrace, infamy. ننگ وناموس nang-o-nāmūs, Honour, shame, disgrace.

نماز namāz P s. f. 1. Prayer (those prayers es- pecially prescribed by the Muhammadan law, which are said five times a day). نماز کرنا namāz

نيازي niyāz-ī P adj. Suppliant, one who peti- tions, one beloved, a friend, a lover.

ناله nāla P s. m. Lamentation, moan. ناله کش nāla-kash, adj. Lamenting, lamenter. ناله کشي nāla-kash-ī, s. f. Lamentation. ناله کرنا nāla karnā, To lament, complain, moan.

نکاس ni-kās निःकास S̱. s. m. 1. Skirts, suburbs, outer boundary of land attached to a town, &c. issue, outgoing, discharge, outlet, vent, source, origin, spring. 2. Adjustment of accounts, accomplishment.

نمازي namāz-ī P 1. s. m. A person who prays. 2. adj. Relating to prayers. 3. Devout, or in the constant habit of praying.

نوک nok P s. f. 1. A bill, beak, nib. 2. End, point, tip, angle. نوک جهوک nok-jhok, s. f. Pulling and hauling. نوک چوک nok-chok, s. f. Talking by innuendos. نوک دار nok-dār, adj. Pointed. نوک زبان nok-i-zabān, By heart.

نسيني nisaini S̱. or nisenī (निःश्रेणी) s. f. A wooden ladder, a ladder.
