ننگ nang P s. m. 1. Honour, reputation, es- teem. 2. (on the contrary) Disgrace, infamy. ننگ وناموس nang-o-nāmūs, Honour, shame, disgrace.

نکلنا nikalnā S̱. (perhaps from निर् prep. and r. कस Move, go) v. n. To issue, to go forth or out, to be extracted, drawn, pulled or taken out, to come or get out, secede, depart, proceed, to be performed or accomplished, to exceed, to be uttered, to be taken off, to be produced, appear, result, to prove, to turn out, to begin, to be in- vented, to escape, to rise, slip, spring.

نيچ नीच nīch S adj. Low, base, vile, mean, vulgar. نيچ اونچ nīch-ūnch (नीचोच्च) s. f. 1. Inequality. 2. The ups and downs of life.

نصيب naṣīb A (from نصب Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. Fortune, lot, luck, chance, portion, part, fate, destiny. (In Hindūstānī this word is often constructed as a plural). نصيب لڙني na- ṣīb laṛne, 1. To be competitor for any thing. 2. (lit. fortune fighting for one) The commence- ment of prosperity, to be greatly favoured by fortune (after adversity). نصيب جگنا naṣīb jagnā, To be fortunate.

نپٿانا nipṭānā H v. a. To settle, to decide, to conclude, to terminate.

ناب nāb P adj. Pure, genuine.

ناگ नाग nāg S s. m. 1. A snake (Coluber naja) and a sort of demigod shaped as a ser- pent. ناگ بهاشا nāg-bhāsh̤ā, A Prākr̤it lan- guage said to be used by the serpentine race who inhabit Pātāl. ناگ پنچمي nāg-pancha- mī, Name of a Hindū holyday, the 5th of Srāwaṇ, sukl-paksh̤, on which day they worship a snake to procure blessings on their children. ناگ پاس (नागपाश) nāg-pās, or ناگ پهانس nāg-phāṅs, s. f. A running noose of a rope, &c. a sort of noose or knot, used in battle to entangle an enemy. ناگ کنيا nāg-kanyā, A race of females said to inhabit Pātāl, or the regions under the earth, and to be of serpentine extraction but very beautiful. ناگ لوک nāg- lok, The region under the earth, the abode of serpents and hydras, Pātāla. نيوتا nyotā S̱. (or dakh. nayūtā, see نوتا) s. m. An invitation, or the presents sent along with an invitation to the person invited, or made by a guest. See Qanoon-e-islam.

نبندهـ निबंध nibandh S adj. Affixed, ascer- tained.
