نہار nahār A (from نہر Heb. and Aram. To flow, Chald. and Syr. To shine) s. m. The day, diffusion of light.

ناريا nāriyā S̱. (from नाडी) s. m. A person who feels the pulse.

نوبت naubat A (from نوب Heb. and Aram. ) s. f. 1. A period, time, turn; access (of fever, &c.) fit. 2. Relieving guard, keeping watch. 3. An accident. 4. Opportunity, occasion, vi- cissitude, degree, pitch, weight. 5. Instruments of musick sounding at the gate of a great man at certain intervals. نوبت جهڙنا naubat jhaṛ- nā, v. n. To be sounded the naubat. نوبت خانه naubat-ḵẖāna, A guard-house. A. P. نوبتي naubat-ī, s. m. He who beats the نوبت naubat (as explained at signif. 5. above).

نہيب niheb (nahīb: Hunter P ) s. m. 1. Fear, terrour. 2. Grief, anguish, anxiety. 3. Ex- pedition, haste.

نٿنا naṭnā H v. a. To deny.

نري narī H s. f. 1. A kind of leather, skin. 2. A weaverʼs shuttle.

نمرود numrūd A (Heb. ) n. prop. Nimrod.

نخل naḵẖl A s. m. A date tree, a palm tree (and often used for a young tree of any kind), a plant. نخل بند naḵẖl-band, s. m. A gardener, a maker of artificial trees and fruits of wax. نخلبندي naḵẖl-band-ī, A plantation.

نواس निवास nivās S s. m. Dwelling, residence.
