مشرو mashrū A. (corrupt. of مشروع) s. m. A kind of silk-cloth. See مشروع signif. 3.

معلوم maﻌlūm A (part. pass. of علم Heb. and Aram. ) adj. Known, distinguished, noto- rious, evident, apparent, obvious; (subst.) The active voice of a verb. معلوم کرنا maﻌlūm karnā, To find out, discover, understand, know, deem, suppose. معلوم هونا maﻌlūm honā, To appear, seem.

مرکب murakkab A (part. pass. II. of رکب Heb. ) adj. Compounded, compound, composed, combined, mixed; subst. Ink. Plur. مرکبات murakkabāt, Compounds (in medicine), things compounded, not simple. ¶ markab (noun of place from رکب) s. m. A horse, ship, camel, vehicle, any thing on which a person is carried.

مبتدا mubtadā A (part. pass. VIII. of بدأ) s. f. 1. Commencement, principle, or subject of a pro- position. 2. Substantive noun in the nomina- tive case. مبتدا وخبر mubtadā-o-ḵẖabar, s. f. The subject and predicate, or substantive and adjective (in syntax).

ملن milan S̱. s. m. Meeting, mixing, agreement, to meet, to mix, &c. See ملنا milnā.

مينڐ menḍ H s. f. A bank (raised to separate fields), a border, bank (of a pond, river, &c.), dam, dike (Harris). مينڐ پڙنا menḍ paṛnā, The rising of waves in the sea.

مشعل mashʼaﻌl A s. f. (from شعل) A torch, flambeau, lantern. مشعلچي mashʼaﻌl-chī, s. m. A torchbearer.

متزايد mutazāʼịd A part. act. (VI. of زيد Heb. ) Increasing, multiplying.

متقدم mutaḳaddim A (part. act. V. from قدم Heb. ) adj. Ancient, anteriour, antique, pre- ceding; (subst.) A chief, president, guardian. Plur. متقدمين mutaḳaddimīn, The ancients, ancient.
