محراب miḥrāb A (from حرب) s. f. 1. The prin- cipal place in a mosque where the priest prays before the people with his face turned towards Mecca. 2. The royal closet or chamber. 3. (In dakh.) Shelf, niche: see طاق t̤āḳ. محراب تيغ miḥrāb-i-teg̠ẖ, The curve or arch of a sci- mitar (as, the محراب is always arched).
