مارا mārā S̱. (from مارنا) adj. 1. Beaten, smitten, slain. 2. Foundered, or overturned (a boat, &c.). 3. (subst.) A victim. مارا پڙنا mārā- paṛnā, To be killed or slain. مارا ماري mārā- mārī (मारामारि) 1. Mutual beating, scuf- fle, fray, bickering, broil. 2. Preposteræ ve- neris usus reciprocus. مارا مارا پهرنا mārā mārā phirnā, To wander.

مگانا magānā S̱. (causal of ماگنا) v. a. To send for. See منگانا mangānā.

مـﮩمل muhmal A mas. (part. pass. IV. of همل) adj. 1. Obsolete, not in use, without meaning (a word, &c.). 2. Without points (a letter). 3. A buffoon. Plur. مـﮩملات muhmalāt, Absurdities.

مستقيم mustaḳīm A (part. act. X. of قوم Heb. and Aram. ) adj. Right, straight, standing erect, erect, faithful, loyal, resolute, rightly constituted.

منطقه mint̤aḳa A (noun of instrum. from نطق) s. m. A girdle, zone, belt. منطقة البروج min- t̤aḳatu-l-burūj, The celestial girdle, i. e. the zodiack. منطقه مبروده mint̤aḳa-e-mabrūda, The frigid zone. منطقه محروقه mint̤aḳa-e-maḥrūḳa, The torrid zone. منطقه معتدله mint̤aḳa-e-muﻌ- tadila, The temperate zone.

مرحوم marḥūm A (part. pass. of رحم) adj. Who has found mercy, i. e. the deceased.
