مدينه madīna A (Heb. from دين To pos- sess, Heb. To judge, to rule, q. d. that which is judged or ruled) s. m. 1. A city, a state. 2. Name of a city in Arabia.

مرثيه mars̤iya A (inf. of رثي) s. m. An elegy, a dirge, a funeral eulogium, particularly one sung during the muḥarram in commemoration of the descendants of Aﻌlī. مرثيه خوان mars̤iya- ḵẖẉān, A repeater of an elegy or of the mars̤iya. مرثيه خواني mars̤iya-ḵẖẉān-ī, Repeating, or singing an elegy or the mars̤iya.

متضرب mutaẓarrib A (part. act. V. of ضرب Heb. ) adj. Agitated, disturbed, uneasy, beaten.

مٿکنا maṭaknā H v. n. To wink, to ogle, to coquet. ¶ maṭkanā, s. m. A small vessel for taking water out of a larger.

مداوره mudāwara A (inf. III. of دور) s. m. Going about, surrounding, encircling, compassing, ad- justing (a business).

ملبوس malbūs A (part. pass. of لبس Heb. and Aram. ) adj. Clothed. 2. (subst.) Clothes (which have been worn), garment. (Plur. ملبوسات malbūsāt).

مج maj H adj. Ripe, mellow.

مفارقت mufāraḳat A (inf. III. of فرق Heb. and Aram. ) s. f. Separation, alienation, absence.

مرتہن murtahan A (part. pass. VIII. of رهن) adj. Pledged, pawned.
