ماهر māhir A (part. act. of مـﮩارت q. v.) adj. Acute, ingenious, sagacious, skilful, skilled, clever, expert, well acquainted (with any art or science), adept.

مٿنا miṭnā S̱. (from मृष्ठ Wiped, r. मृज Cleanse) v. n. To be effaced, to expire.

متعفن mutaʼaﻌffin A (part. act. V. from عفن) adj. Putrid, corrupted, rotten, stinking, fetid.

مچلاٴي machlā-ī H s. f. Pertness, perverseness, obstinacy.

مـﮩاوتهـ mahāwath S̱. (महामात्र) s. m. An elephant driver or keeper.

موکهـ mokh S̱. (from मुख) s. m. An airhole, spy-hole, or hole in a wall for light, &c. S̱. موکها 1. mūkhā (मट्टक) s. m. The ridge of a thatch, the topping or coping of a wall. 2. mokhā (मुख) s. m. A small hole in a wall for admitting light and air, an airhole, an aperture.

مٿها maṭṭhā S̱. s. m. (मंथित) Buttermilk. ¶ miṭṭhā (or dakh. miṭhā) 1. (perhaps, from मिष्ठ Sweet) s. m. A kiss. 2. (मिष्ठ) adj. Sweet: slow. See ميٿها mīṭhā.

مجاور mujāwir A (part. act. III. of جور Heb. ) s. m. 1. A neighbour. 2. A sweeper of a mosque, an attendant at a mosque (or other place of worship), one who remains devoutly employed at a mosque or attached to it.

مظلوم maz̤lūm A (part. pass. of ظلم) adj. 1. Injured, oppressed. 2. Mild, gentle, modest. مظلوم نوازي maz̤lūm-nawāz-ī, s. f. The cherishing of the oppressed.

معذور maﻌẕūr A (part. pass. of عذر) adj. 1. Ex- cused, excusable. 2. Disappointed.
