لداٴو ladāʼo H s. m. 1. A load. 2. An arched roof or terrace.

لپيٿا lapeṭā H s. (dakh.) See لپيٿ lapeṭ.

لوکا lūkā S̱. (r. लोक Shine) s. m. Pieces of burning matter thrown out from a conflagration. لوکا لگانا lūkā lagānā, To inflame or excite quar- rels, &c.

ليلا līlā नील S̱. adj. Blue.

لوح lauḥ A (Heb. ) s. f. A plank, a table, a board (especially, on which any thing is written), a tablet. لوح محفوظ lauḥ-i-maḥfūz̤, The guarded table on which the destinies of mankind are written (according to the Muhammadans). لوح وقلم lauḥ-o-ḳalam, s. f. The tablet and pen on, and with, which the decrees of the deity are written.

لشکر lashkar P s. m. An army. لشکر خلاص lash- kar-ḵẖalāṣ, A trull, a strumpet. لشکرگاه lashkar- gāh, s. f. A camp. لشکرکشي lashkar-kash-ī, s. f. Levying of forces, conduct of an army, leading forth an army, invasion.

لحظه laḥz̤a A s. m. 1. A moment, the twinkling of an eye. 2. A look, a glance.

لاکهي lākh-ī S̱. s. f. A red colour procured from lac. S. لاگ लाग (r. लग Come in contact) lāg, s. f. 1. Striking, hitting, fixing, a stroke. 2. En- mity, rancour, spite, grudge. 3. Affection, love. 4. Cost, expenditure. 5. A secret. 6. Approach. لاگ لگنا lāg lagnā, To fall in love.

لـﮩو lahv A s. m. 1. Playing, amusing oneʼs self, unbending the mind. 2. Play, any thing ludi- crous, or jocular. لـﮩو لعب lahv-laﻌb, s. m. Play, sport, mirth, amusement, game, fun. لـﮩو ماٴيل lahv-māʼịl, adj. Inclined to play.
