لال کدو lāl kaddū P s. A kind of pumpion. S. لالن लालन (r. लल Long to have) lālan, s. A mistress, sweetheart.

للانا lilānā H v. n. To long for.

لمبي lambī S̱. (see لمبا) adj. f. 1. Long, tall. 2. A kind of bounding pace in a horse. لمبي سانس بهرني lambī sāṅs bharnī, To regret, to la- ment. لمبي کرنا lambī karnā, To make a horse capriole, or throw out his fore legs.

لتي lattī H s. f. 1. The string of a childʼs top. 2. A cloth tied to the end of a pole to direct the flight of pigeons. 3. A kick when swimming. لتي کرنا lattī karnā, To run away.

لومڙي lomṛī लोमशा S̱. s. f. A fox.

لاکها lākhā लाक्षा S̱. s. m. Lac, a red die: see لاکهہ lākh.

لچهمي लक्ष्मी lachh̤mī S (or laksh̤mī) s. f. 1. The wife of Vish̤ṇu, and goddess of wealth and prosperity. (She is also called Padmā, Ka- malā and Srī, and is supposed to be the Ceres of the Latins). 2. Prosperity, wealth. 3. Beauty, splendour.

لوٿ lauṭ H (from لوٿنا lauṭnā) s. m. 1. Turning over, inverting. 2. Returning.
