لوح lauḥ A (Heb. ) s. f. A plank, a table, a board (especially, on which any thing is written), a tablet. لوح محفوظ lauḥ-i-maḥfūz̤, The guarded table on which the destinies of mankind are written (according to the Muhammadans). لوح وقلم lauḥ-o-ḳalam, s. f. The tablet and pen on, and with, which the decrees of the deity are written.

ليبڙ lībaṛ H s. m. Rheum (of the eyes). S̱. H. لي بهاگنا le bhāgnā, To run away with.

لوزيات lauz-iyāt A Sweetmeats in which almonds are mixed. A. P. لوزينه lauz-īna, s. m. A confection of almonds.

لاٿا lāṭā H s. m. A kind of food eaten by the poor (mahūʼā pounded with grain).

ليسنا lesnā H (perhaps, for s̱. ليپنا lepnā) v. a. 1. To plaster, to spread, to daub. 2. To kindle. 3. To foment (a quarrel).

لکهمن lakhman लक्ष्मण S̱. n. prop. The half- brother of Rāmachandra, q. v.

لٿيرا luṭerā S̱. (r. लुट see لوٿنا lūṭnā) s. m. A squanderer, a prodigal, spendthrift, plunderer.

لفافه lifāfa A (from لف) s. m. A cover, envelope, enclosure, a wrapper, outward case. لفافه کرنا lifāfa karnā, To wrap up, to enclose.
