امیدوار ummed-wār P adj. Hopeful, hoping, ex- pecting. s. An expectant, a dependent, a can- didate, a cadet. امیدوارهونا ummed-wār honā, To hope.

ادهوڙي adh-auṛī S̱. s. f. Half a hide (of a thick strong kind).

احوال aḥwāl A s. m. (plur. of حال hāl) Con- dition, circumstances, events, occurrences, state, account. احوال بتلانا aḥwāl batlānā, To state oneʼs condition. احوال پرسان aḥwāl-pursān, Asking after health, &c. احوال پرسي aḥwāl-pursī, s. f. Inquiry after health, circumstances, &c. احوال پوچهنا aḥwāl pūchhnā, To inquire after health, &c.

اده adh S̱. or ādh (in compos.) Half; see ادها ādhā.

التفات iltifāt A (inf. viii. of لفت Heb. He bent, inclined) s. f. Friendship, kindness, obli- gation, courtesy, respect, regard, attention; an apostrophe (in rhetorick). التفات کرنا iltifāt karnā, To attend to, to have regard or respect.

اهرنا uharnā H v. n. To subside (a swelling or inundation).

اونٿ ūnṭ S̱. (Sans. उष्ट़ ush̤ṭr) s. m. A camel. S̱.H. اونٿ کٿارا ūnṭ kaṭārā, s. m. Name of a this- tle of which camels are fond. (Echinops echi- natus. Roxb.).

استرداد istirdād A (inf. x. of ردّ) s. m. 1. De- manding restitution of any thing, whether given, deposited in trust, or taken without consent. 2. Repelling, driving or forcing back.

اهيريا aher-iyā S̱. (आखेटी) s. m. A sports- man, a hunter.
