کشمکس kash-ma-kash P s. f. Pulling backwards and forwards; distraction, difficulty, want, pe- nury, struggle, dilemma, &c. See کشاکش kash- ā-kash.

گهنٿا घंटा ghanṭā S s. m. A bell, clock, hour.

کهنچوانا khinchwānā H (caus. of کهنچنا) v. a. To cause to draw or suffer, &c.

گل هار gal-hār S̱. (from گلنا) adj. Soluble, cor- ruptible.

گزيدن gazīdan P inf. or verb. n. Biting, to bite.

کهڙکهڙاهٿ khaṛkhaṛāhaṭ H (from کهڙکهڙانا) s. f. Creaking, clatter, rattling, jarring (as of a door), snoring.

کاست kāst P (from کاستن) s. f. Diminution, loss, damage.

کترنا katarnā S̱. (कर्त्तन r. कृत् Cut) v. a. To clip, cut (as with scissors), cut out, pare, shred, cut up. ¶ kutarnā, v. a. To cut with the teeth.

کالي काली kālī S 1. adj. f. Black. کالي مرچ kālī mirch, s. f. Black pepper. 2. s. f. The Hecate of the Hindūs, and wife of Siva, to whom human sacrifices are offered. 3. The Nile. 4. Ink. 5. s. m. (for कालिय) Name of a snake with a hundred and ten hoods, van- quished by Kr̤ish̤ṇa. کالي بون kālī-būn, s. m. Name of a plant. کالي تلسي kālī-tulsī, s. f. Basil. (Ocimum sanctum). کالي ده kālī-dah, Name of a whirlpool in the river Jamunā, where the snake کالي lived. کالي زيري kālī-zīrī, s. f. See سوم راج somrāj. کالي مٿي kālī-miṭṭī, s. f. Black lead.

کهونا khonā S̱. 1. v. a. (from क्षय Loss, waste) To lose, to part with, to get rid of, to waste, to squander; s. m. losing. 2. s. m. A leaf which contains a parcel of betel or flowers, &c.
