قسر ḳasr A s. m. Violence, compulsion, retalia- tion, revenge.

قـﮩقـﮩ‍ه ḳahḳaha A s. m. Loud laughter, horse- laugh. قـﮩقـﮩ‍ا کرنا ḳahḳahā karnā, or قـﮩقـﮩ‍ه مارنا ḳahḳaha mārnā, To laugh heartily, to giggle.

قرط ḳurt̤ A (Chald. from قرط ḳarat̤a, Aram. Chald. To cut, to amputate) s. m. 1. A piece, a little, a mouthful. 2. An earring.

قدرت ḳudrat A (from قدر) s. f. 1. Power, au- thority. 2. Omnipotence.

قصاص ḳiṣāṣ A (improp. ḳaṣāṣ from قصّ ḳaṣṣa Heb. To cut off) s. m. The law of retalia- tion. (This word is used in contradistinction to ديت diyat).

قالين ḳālīn P s. f. See قالي ḳālī.

قـﮩر ḳahr A s. m. Force, severity, chastisement, rage, fury, indignation, vengeance, judgment, calamity. قـﮩر قيامت ḳahr-ḳiyāmat, Great dis- turbance or commotion (is applied both in pane- gyrick and satire).

قيراط ḳīrāt̤ A (from قرط To divide into small parts. A seed of the Abrus precatorius, taken out of the pod, keration, is the weight in question) s. m. A carat, the twenty-fourth part of an ounce: four barley-corns: Alf.

قفا ḳafā A s. f. The back of the head, occiput, nape of the neck; behind, after.

قمچي ḳamchī T s. f. 1. A horse-whip. 2. A bamboo twig.
